For a growing Colorado family that loves to cook, a reimagined kitchen balances thoughtful function, natural materials and an inviting sense of warmth designed for everyday life together.
For a growing family that loves to cook, the kitchen in their new Greenwood Village, Colorado, home needed to rise to the occasion. Christina Conant Design reimagined the kitchen and breakfast room as part of a larger renovation, creating a more generous, connected space for family life to unfold.
Opening the kitchen to the adjoining breakfast room was only part of the transformation. Behind the scenes, the home’s HVAC system was relocated and new structural beams introduced, allowing the ceiling to be raised to align with the rest of the first floor. Suddenly, the kitchen had the scale and breathing room it had been missing.
The design takes its cues from the traditional character of the home, but with a lighter hand and an eye toward how the family lives today. Classic details bring warmth and permanence, while a suite of Monogram appliances, including the refrigerator, range, dishwashers, and speed oven, makes serious cooking easier.
Now more spacious and ready for a crowd, the kitchen is equally at home with breakfast around the table, dinner on the stove, or a house full of family. For this family, the kitchen was always going to be more than a place to cook.
